Jane Lanza

"As a native of California, I grew up in Silicon Valley before the silicon. Then it was all sweet smelling orchards and young families. Upstart neighborhoods were freshly built around shiny new, local, public schools that every kid on the block attended. It was a no brainer. These were “our” schools. When it came time for my three children to start school, I chose the public school system for them as well, but I was lucky enough to be able to live in a school district with high standards. Still, many of my neighbors chose differently and sent their children far and wide seeking the best education they could find."

No matter where we come from, we want the best for our children. I would like to see every neighborhood have access to a local public school system that can not only provide them with the sense of belonging that I enjoyed as a child, but offer them a quality of education that is the best in the business.”

Jane’s roll as Grant Manager at Silver Giving is combined with her position as Executive Director of the Robert and Ruth Halperin Foundation where she has assisted Phil’s Father, Robert Halperin, since 2006. Prior to entering the non-profit world, Jane spent 20 years at IBM in high-level, large account marketing positions before taking the reins as business development executive at multiple Silicon Valley start-ups. Jane financed her education and graduated Com Laude from San Jose State University in 1982.
